Community Food Programme

The Community Food Programme is a brand new programme made up of a number of projects that work with the community to deliver nutritional advice in a fun and informal manner through talks, presentations, shopping tours, cookery classes and fruit and vegetable bag schemes.

    What do the Community Food Workers provide?

  • Community Cooking Sessions in a purpose built kitchen at Links HLC
  • Supermarket tours - learn how to shop healthily
  • Courses on healthy eating, 5 A DAY, meal planning, budgeting etc
  • Food Hygiene courses
  • Healthy eating resources e.g. recipe books, meal ideas, preparation cards
  • In The Bag Fruit & Vegetable bag schemes - affordable fresh fruit, vegetables and salad available at a number of community outlets

    Membership scheme

    In order to access the services and classes offered by the Community Food Programme you need to become a member. Membership is free, available to anyone who lives or works in Ellesmere Port and it is easy to join up. Simply download the Community Food Programme Application Form here or contact the centre for a form.
